Donate
–
Annual donations to the Genesis Fund allow staff to offer
expert technical assistance to nonprofits across Maine at
no cost. Assistance might be walking a community group through
the process of becoming incorporated or helping an organization
secure a low-interest federal loan that will help complete
its affordable housing project. The Genesis Fund’s ability
to offer guidance and assistance to groups sets it apart from
other lending institutions.
Invest –
Genesis provides a unique investment opportunity for socially
concerned individuals and institutions who want to put a portion
of their assets to work for long-term community redevelopment
in Maine. Investors in the Genesis Fund choose the amount,
term and interest rate based on their financial and social
goals. The minimum investment is $1,000. Typical terms are
three to five years, with many investors rolling over their
investment at the end of the initial term of their note. We
maintain reserves to protect investors from any future losses,
and we’re proud of our borrowers’ 100 percent
repayment rate.
Make a Planned Gift –
Genesis welcomes bequests of cash, stock, a percentage of
your estate or the residual of your estate. Investors who
wish to donate their investment to Genesis at the time of
death may make a provision in their will to forgive the indebtedness.
Please contact us to discuss a planned gift that will provide
income to you during your lifetime.
