Genesis approves new loans to create affordable housing opportunities and support organizational development

In June 2005, Genesis approved $379,000 in new loans to Community Building Trust and Ingraham, Inc. to create affordable housing opportunities and support organizational development.

Community Building Trust (CBT) is a group of local residents working to create affordable housing in the greater Damariscotta area.  With a $23,000 loan from Genesis, CBT was able to purchase a 2.5 acre parcel in Bristol that will support two new affordable homes.  CBT plans to work with Habitat for Humanity on construction of the homes.

Ingraham, Inc. assists persons in crisis by providing a safe environment, providing access to social services, and developing social policies and programs in Maine.  Genesis provided a loan of $356,000 toward the acquisition of a new office building to bring all of Ingraham's services under one roof.
